Hand Wound Pickups
Our pickups are hand wound by real people like they were in the Fifties and Sixties. We have S-Type, T-Type, P90's and Humbuckers.
We scatter-wind our pickups, this replicates the way they were made in the Fifties and early Sixties before automated machine winders took over from humans. Scatter-winding reduces the co-planar capacitance in the coil that uniform, machine wound pickups can't replicate. The result is a pickup with an "open" sound with clear bass and sweet treble.
Optional reverse wound, reverse polarity middle pickup for hum cancelling in-between positions on S-Type pickups and optional reverse-wound neck pickup on T-type pickups. Humbuckers have slightly mis-matched coils and can be custom-ordered unpotted, with or without covers.
We use Alnico 5 or Alnico 2 magnets for our pickups and plain enamel coated wire.
